Deshawn Kelly is currently a 7th-8th grade teacher/ Resource Specialist for the Compton Unified School District. She previously worked for Inglewood Unified School District as a Science and Math teacher and a Special Needs teacher. She received her BA in Science from the University of Southern California at Los Angeles and her Masters in Special Education and Leadership from Cal State University Dominguez Hills and Arizona State University. Ms. Kelly considers herself to be a passionate advocate for her middle school developmentally disabled students. In addition to her education, teaching and department chair background, she brings to SCLARC’s board additional management, law and insight into the workings of other advisory committees. Ms. Kelly is interested in making the lives of others better by serving on this regional center’s board.
