Salary Range: $55,229 - $81,598
EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS ARE AS FOLLOWS:
A Master’s Degree in social work, psychology, counseling, education, nursing or related Human Services field with three (3) years of professional experience working with developmentally disabled persons at South Central Los Angeles Regional Center (SCLARC). A B.A. Degree in social work, psychology, counseling, education, nursing or related Human Services field with five (5) of experience working with developmentally disabled persons at South Central Los Angeles Regional Center (SCLARC) maybe substituted instead of a master’s degree.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The Team Leader will support the Program Manager in the day-to-day management of an assigned unit. The position requires 50% case management, resolution and troubleshooting for minor issues, facilitation of ongoing trainings, case audits, monitoring compliance with TCM Units, Consumer Diagnostic Evaluation Report (CDER), Family Cost Participation (FCP) and special incident report processing. The Team Leader will maintain a caseload and can fluctuate based on duties assigned. The Team Leader will provide unit trainings and coaching on specific areas as identified by the Program Manager to the Unit SCs. New SCs will receive training from Team Leaders outside of the new employee trainings, including but not limited to shadowing staff at Individual annual meetings and providing hands on assistance on a daily basis. The Team Leader will review and approve Annual and Quarterly contact reports and could track daily SIR completion and follow-up for assigned unit. The Team Leader is expected to provide consultation to SCs on challenging cases when needed. The Team Leader will participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned by the Program Manager.
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
The Team Leader should possess the following: knowledge of Title 17 and Title 22 regulations, the Lanterman Act, Person Centered Planning, Purchase of Services (POS) Standards, Medicaid Waiver and Family Cost Participation (FCP) Programs. The Team Leader should also have knowledge of the referral process and presentation of cases to SCLARC Teams to include Interdisciplinary Team (IDT), Suspected Consumer Abuse and Neglect (SCAN), Enhanced Clinical Team (ECT) and Forensic Advisory Team (FAT). The Team Leader must be knowledgeable in the fair hearings process and laws associated with purchase of services. The Team Leader must also be knowledgeable in SCLARC policies and protocols.
The Team Leader should have strong customer service skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with peers, managers, vendors, community agencies, individuals we serve and families. The Team Leader must possess a working knowledge of short-term crisis counseling, principles and techniques of case management. The Team Leader should have an ability to advocate on behalf of the individuals we serve. The Team Leader should be able to work as part of an interdisciplinary team, exercise sound professional judgment in making decisions and work independently.
The Team Leader should be knowledgeable in the use of SmartChart and SANDIS for processing and retrieval of information for individuals served by SCLARC. The Team Leader should have an understanding of funding streams and generic resources. The Team Leader must also possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook, a valid driver’s license, a motor vehicle and adequate automobile insurance.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors. Spanish speakers preferred.
