Dr. Kim Bowie serves as the Director of the Community Services and Family Supports Department at SCLARC. In this role, she provides oversight to three major areas in the regional center: Resource Development, Quality Assurance, and Vendor Training. Dr. Bowie joined SCLARC in 1999 as the Training & Development Manager. Prior to taking on the role of Director of Community Services and Family Supports Department, she was the Chief of Community Services.
As the Director of Community Services and Family Supports, Dr. Bowie works with the Leadership Team to develop administrative policies regarding legislative regulations, activities and contractual mandates. She also coordinates inter/intra agency activities specific to program development, resources and utilization of services.
Dr. Bowie cultivates and maintains relationships with other agencies and organizations in the community that SCLARC serves in an ongoing effort to assist the center with the implementation of the highest standards of service delivery for persons with developmental disabilities.

South Central Los Angeles Regional Center (SCLARC) provides education, assessment, training and services in the communities of South Los Angeles, Watts, Leimert Park, Florence/Firestone, West Adams, and the cities of Bell, Bell Gardens, Compton, Cudahy, Downey, Huntington Park, Lynwood, Maywood, Vernon, South Gate, North Carson, Gardena, and Paramount.
