Giovanna Brasfield (Dr. G) is the CEO and Principal Consultant of Brasfield & Associates, LLC, and an award-winning advocate for diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA). With over 20 years of experience in the construction industry, Dr. G brings deep expertise in executive leadership reporting, project inclusivity monitoring, inclusive program development, policy and compliance, training, workforce development, social impact, and outreach for business engagement in construction and related trades. Dr. G is known for helping organizations move beyond DEIA conversations by implementing actionable strategies that create truly inclusive and equitable workplaces and workspaces. Her dynamic leadership and expertise have positioned her as a trusted partner to organizations seeking meaningful, measurable progress in DEIA. In addition to her consulting work, Dr. G is an internationally writer for RIL Construction Management in Finland and a recognized global keynote speaker, widely praised for her authentic leadership, powerful storytelling, and practical insights. She is highly regarded for her ability to build inclusive teams, foster mentorship, and champion allyship blending lived experience, industry knowledge, and actionable guidance that resonates with diverse audiences across industries and regions.
Dr. G holds two doctorate degrees earned from the University of La Verne, a D.P.A. in Public Administration, an Ed.D. in Organizational Leadership and serves on the Associated General Contractors (AGC) of America’s Culture of Care Committee and Co-Chair for the Neurodiversity Committee, Board Member of the Associated General Contractors (AGC) of California’s Construction Education Foundation (CEF), a Public Board of Director for the American Institute of Architecture (AIA) – Los Angeles Chapter, Board of Director for West Angeles Community Development Corporation (CDC), and a Past-Chair of the Steering Committee for RAND Foundation’s Center to Advance Racial Equity Policy (CAREP). Dr. G has received many accolades, awards, and recommendations for her accomplishments. Some of the recent recognition received for her work includes being named one of Autodesk’s Top 25 Global Construction Thought Leaders in 2024, 2023 Comerica Bank’s Women Business Award, 2023 Associated General Contractor (AGC) of California’s Associate of the Year, and 2022 Women of Empowerment by the YWCA Glendale- Pasadena Chapter.
