Kyla Lee
Chief Financial Officer
Kyla Lee has had a long and distinguished professional career spanning more than 15 years in executive leadership roles in the private and public sector. For the past year, Ms. Lee has served as an Organizational Consultant assisting SCLARC in improving its internal control systems, operations and practices. She has been instrumental in working with senior leadership, as well as finance and operations staff, in reviewing and enhance the agency’s adherence to general accounting policies, procedures and protocols. Most notably, this included SCLARC’s transition to a new auditing partner agency and facilitating the development of a long-term strategy to obtain additional resources for priority agency needs and projects.
Before coming to SCLARC in January 2018, Ms. Lee held the position of Chief Financial Officer with a nonprofit agency launched by President Obama, My Brother’s Keeper Alliance, to address persistent opportunity gaps facing boys and young men of color so that they reach their full potential. In that capacity, she was instrumental in working in collaboration with senior management team members and the Chief Executive Officer to carry out the agency’s vision and mission. Critical tasks included managing fiscal operations and financial reporting, building operational and capital forecasts to fund the multi-year strategic plan and developing fiscal and operational policies and procedures to support national programming. During her tenure, Ms. Lee served as the executive team leader for the national board’s audit and finance committees.
Ms. Lee’s prior position for three years was as Chief Financial Officer of St. Anne’s, a leader in Los Angeles in efforts to support pregnant and parenting women and their children struggling with the impact of abuse and neglect. She served on the executive management team reporting directly to the President/Chief Executive Officer. In her role, she was responsible for managing the accounting, facilities management and information technology departments. Notable accomplishments during her tenure were the oversight of construction of a 42-unit permanent supportive housing complex and the renovation of seven Head Start sites. Ms. Lee also served as the executive team leader for the audit, finance and investment committees.
