What is a DDS Breach Notification?
A breach is, generally, an impermissible use or disclosure under the Privacy Rule that compromises the security or privacy of protected health information (PHI) such that the use or disclosure poses a significant risk of financial, reputational, or other harm to the affected individual.
Following a breach of unsecured protected health information, covered entities must provide notification of the breach to affected individuals, the Secretary, and, in certain circumstances, to the media. In addition, business associates must notify covered entities if a breach occurs at or by the business associate.
DDS Vendor Rate Study
Pursuant to Welfare and Institutions Code Section 4519.8, the Department of Developmental Services (DDS) is required to submit a rate study addressing the sustainability, quality, and transparency of community-based services for individuals with developmental disabilities to the Legislature.
