Deaf Community:
A community who share beliefs and communication through languages and experiences due to being deaf. Interactions through American Sign Language (a spoken Language) which provides accessibility to the deaf community. The value and belief the community shares and feels heard by others to be able to excel in their dreams and goals to achieve.

DHH:
Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals have hearing loss and need to rely on lipreading, hearing aids, cochlear implants or nothing at all, rely on ASL.

Deaf +:
Individuals with hearing loss but additional disabilities such as intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorder.

Individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing with some degree of vision loss.

Jeremy Murphy is the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Community Coordinator at South Central Los Angeles Regional Center. His role supports DHH, Deafblind, Deaf+ community to ensure resources are available for use for members served by the agency. Jeremy is the point of contact for information needed for community, families and staff.
